Abstract
A polyphase plicative tectonic history characterizes the Monticiano Roccastrada Unit in the Eastern Elba promontory. A D2 kilometric scale antiformal eastward vergence structure was recognized. A new hypothesis for the tectonic evolution is proposed for this classical area of the northern Inner Apennine belt.
