Abstract
The paper deals with issues which are raised by the approaches of experimental history, and are still widely discussed by historiography of science and technology. Following the critical analysis of those controversial matters which have been involving this historiographical method since the Sixties, the article suggests some innovative applications of the experimental history to Earth sciences.
The methodology, as defined below, could play an important role to plan interesting activities for geoconservation as well as improving the geological heritage.
